This article features artwork and interviews from artists involved in the digital and photography group, Belle-Art

:bulletpurple: Group Announcements :bulletpurple:

:pointr: The group voting system will be changed back to a "normal" submission system, mostly because we've grown in members recently and I really can't be bothered to note people about wrong submissions, etc. I'd rather have the option to say that on the submission page. Expect the change in the next one-two weeks.

MadElfTk is a wonderful digital artist with a style of paintings all her own. There really isn't much to say, but look at her artwork.

Explain your art medium.
I combine traditional and digital techniques. Usually I work with a rough drawing paper and put down my basic sketch which is either shaded in with standard graphite or outlined in ink. I scan it in, and paint in colour and refine details in both Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop. The balances between digital and traditional work varies with each painting. Some painting have almost no traditional base whereas some other are only slightly touched digitally.

How long have you been doing this?
I've been experimenting with this technique and refining it for about several years now.

How did you get in to doing this art form?
What drew me to experimenting with digital painting was really just joining this site and seeing all of the professional digital work. I just had to try it, and it's been a technique that I've been using ever since then.

What do you love about it?
I love the ease of repainting mistakes, something that would ruin a traditional painting can be easily undone.

Do you have any tips for people interested in the same art form?
Have patience with your progress and never stop trying new techniques! Take all the advice you can from others because you just may discover something that will improve your work dramatically.
